Since I want our wedding to be reflective of our personalities and tastes, I have been looking for ways to incorporate my love of reading into our wedding. I thought about using books in our centerpieces, a la Mrs. Lovebug, or perhaps giving them a nod on our invitations like Mrs. Avocado. Non of these options seemed quite right though, until I saw this tutorial for a beautiful wreath made out of the pages of old books. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with, or how it would turn out, but I just knew that I had to make one.
After a couple of days of hot glue gun fumes, the wreath is complete. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I think that it came out fabulous! Wanna see?
I'm thinking of making another one and hanging them on the doors of our church. What do you think? Any other suggestions on how I can use it?
Are you making sure that your favorite things are represented at the wedding?

Ok, so.... I love it, I do. It's really unique and like you said, represents you alot.
ReplyDeleteHowever.
Do you think it fits with your overall theme? I'm just trying to picture it against a formal navy/white colour scheme with accents of yellow... I just have this feeling that it's more "whimsical" than the elegant, refined event I picture in my mind when I think about your wedding.
Anyways, thats all just my opinion obviously. I do have to say your "arts and crafts" skills have grown immensely! :P

Yah, I know what you mean - which is why I'm not sure what to do with it yet. I love it, and it might just end up on our wall. I was thinking that if we put it up on the doors of our church, it would be removed enough from the navy/white, since we can't really decorate the church that much. Does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteYeah that does make sense! And I think it would look really pretty there....
