The Table Label

Since our STD's are finished, and the designing process for our invites has stalled do to my inability to use any design programs more complicated than Microsoft Publisher (I'm trying to teach myself how to use Gimp and Inkscape...any other free, user friendly design software out there?), I've decided to move on to a new project - our table numbers.

When I first started the planning process, I imagined wooden numbers on our tables, a la Miss Cola:

I am planning for our centerpieces to be taller versions of the ones above, and the wooden numbers seemed to fit!  Alas, this plan was not meant to be.

I am one of those people that goes to craft stores without any real purpose in mind.  I just kind of pace the aisles, hoping that something will jump out and inspire me.  And on a recent trip to Michael's, that's exactly what happened!

These gold and bronze frames were in the dollar bin.  In my "normal" state of mind, I would have passed by these without a second glance.  In my "wedding" state of mind, however, I saw potential. They came in many different shapes, and I quickly picked out thirty of the oval and rectangle ones.  Once I had these babies home, I proceeded to take them apart.

I plan on spray painting them white, and putting our numbers inside.  I even made a prototype, but was hoping that the hive could help me with the colour selection (yes, I need your input again - I am very indecisive - are you sick of me yet?).

Please keep in mind that these will be standing on either navy tablecloths, or navy squares/runners on top of white tablecloths.  I made "number 1" first, but the number is a little hard to see in real life.  I made "number 3" because Mr. Pudding commented that my obsession with stripes was starting to be a bit concerning :P

Which do you like best?

Number 1
Number 2
Number 3
