Polish Wedding Traditions - "The Coin Toss"

The coin toss is a tradition that the hive has heard about before.  Does this couple look familiar?

Our very own Avocado's pulled off this tradition beautifully!  Basically, after exiting the church, the happy couple is showered with coins by their guests.  The bride and groom have to pick up all of the coins by themselves, and this is supposed to ensure the prosperity of their union.

Personal photo taken in Poland at my cousin's wedding.

This tradition makes for some very fun pictures, and I am all for anything that will help our chances at having an economically sound marriage :p
Are there any other cultural traditions out there that incorporate coins, or are meant to predict good fortune for the bride and groom?
