Beating a Dead Horse

Alternate Title:  I Think that My Bridesmaids Hate Me

Last time we talked about bridesmaid dresses, we were (mostly) in agreement that this little B2 number was the way to go:

You commented that the dress was flattering and photographed well, and my two beautiful bridesmaids agreed that the dress was their favorite.

Armed with all of this positive reinforcement, what did I do?  Well, I just couldn't pull the trigger and forced BM/FSIL to go shopping with me just one more time :p

Having exhausted most bridal boutique options in the state of Vermont (oh how I miss the shopping selection of the Toronto area), we had only one stop to make:  David's Bridal.

To preface, there are no David's Bridal stores in Canada, so the only knowledge that I had of this chain was gathered from the internet.  I hate to say it, but the impression that I had was mostly negative.  It's weird, but the internet has the power to spread negative reviews much faster than positive ones :p

I have to say that David's was a pretty pleasant surprise for me!  We went in on a weekday morning, so we had the place to ourselves.  The selection of dresses was pretty large, and I loved how they had each dress in different colours and sizes!  One of the biggest annoyances in the BM shopping experience has been the fact that non of the sample dresses came even close to fitting my girls (size 2 and 6 - hate them!).  It's really difficult to see how a dress would fit when it's at least 5 sizes too big!

We did find some possibilities at David's.  They really had some great and very affordable dresses!  Here are a few we considered:

I really liked this one, and FSIL loved practicing holding a bouquet

I was worried about the material gathering on the hips on this one, but it looked beautiful on my skinny mini bridesmaid!

We didn't love this one, but the colour could have something to do with that.

We tried this one on just to see how the navy colour would look on a person, since it looked a little bland on the hanger.  It was a cute short dress, but we're going long, baby!

Upon returning home and looking through the pictures, I still think that the B2 dress is the way to go.  I have yet to pull the trigger, though.  I think that the reason that I am struggling with this decision is because I'm not sure if any of the dresses are special enough to be worth the price tag, you know?  Unfortunately, I have exhausted all of my shopping options in Vermont, and most boutiques have warned me that I need to order a dress by the end of February at the latest.  A decision will have to be made soon, and I'm scared to make it.

Sigh.  Was it this hard for you to decide on a BM dress?  Are you sick and tired of me rambling about it yet?
